RACE QUESTIONS
Q: Is there late registration or race day registration?
A: Yes! Participants are encouraged to take advantage of discounted pricing and the ability to reserve a race shirt in the size of your choice, by registering early. Online registration will be available until 15 minutes before the race starts. On race day, we will also be able to accept payment by cash. Please be aware that registration will end at 7:45 AM. If you arrive after 7:45 hoping to register in time to run, you will not be able to participate. Registering before race day makes life easier for everyone. If you must register on race day, please arrive early enough to allow for parking and getting to the registration tents before 7:45.
Q: When you say register early to reserve a race shirt in my size, what does that mean?
A: All runners who register by Friday, October 18 will receive a race shirt in the size they want. After October 18, we will order some extra shirts, but we will not be able to guarantee that late registrants will receive one. If you register late, you will have to wait until those who reserved a shirt size have received their shirt first.
Q: Will you offer free race photos again?
A: Of course! You can download as many photos as you want, for FREE! We'll send you a link after the race.
Q: Where and when is packet pick up?
A: Packet Pick Up will be held at the DDD Foundation's nonprofit dental clinic Wednesday October 30 from 3-8 PM.
Q: How can I register on race day?
A: Please arrive before 7:30 AM if you need to register on race day. Race day registration will end at 7:45 AM. If you arrive after 7:45 hoping to register in time to run, you will be sad, and we will be sad, and we don't want everybody to be sad. Please register before race day. And if you must register on race day, please arrive early enough to allow for parking and getting to the registration tents before 7:45. After you park, go up to the top level of the deck and look for the on-site registration tent. Volunteers there will help you register. Please also note that if you register on race day, shirts are first come, first served. We cannot guarantee that a shirt will be available to race day registrants.
Q: Are you offering a Virtual Run?
A: Yes! See registration details for more information on the Virtual Run!
Q: I have limited mobility. Is there a wheelchair division?
A: Yes! There is a wheelchair division, and there is a $200 cash prize for the fastest chair runner! Our wheelchair division includes the ability to self-push a chair, or for runners to push a chair participant. Both compete for the same prizes. We also will award a Gold Tooth Trophy to the first place, second place, and third place chair finishers.
Q: What time should I arrive on race day?
A: We encourage all participants and spectators to arrive by 7:15 a.m. to allow for adequate time to warm up and get to the starting line without feeling rushed. Anyone who is not at the starting line at the gun will not be allowed to participate due to the fact that the race route starts on a busy thoroughfare and it would not be safe.
Q: Warm up?
A. Yes! A professional personal trainer will lead our warm-up between 7:35-7:45, prior to moving to the starting line. It's fun, so you don't want to miss it!
Q: Where can I park for the race?
A: Ample free parking will be provided at the event. You will be directed into the parking deck upon arrival. The event will be held on top of the parking deck, so you can just park your car and then walk up the ramp to the upper level.
Q: Is there a bag check?
A: No. Because parking is right next to the start/finish, you can store anything you don't need to carry in your car. The parking deck is just a few yards from the starting line.
Q: Will there be food?
A: Yes, we provide snacks and water at no extra cost to you! We've been told by many runners that we have the best food choices of all the 5K races!
Q: Are spectators allowed?
A: Our new race route goes through a residential neighborhood. We encourage residents and friends to cheer for runners, as long as spectators stay on the sidewalk!
Q: Is there a rain date?
A: No, Dental Dash at Dawn 5K will take place rain or shine. Should severe weather cause a necessary cancellation, runners are encouraged to complete the race virtually. There will be no refunds, but in the case of a weather-related cancellation, a portion of your race registration fee will convert to a tax-deductible donation, and your race shirt and medal will be shipped to you.
Q: Can I get a refund if I can no longer attend?
A: Sorry, registration for fundraising events is non-refundable.
Q: Are there porta-potties on the course?
A: Restrooms and handwashing stations will be available near the start/finish line/event. Only water is available on the course, at the halfway point.
Q: Are baby joggers, strollers, or pets allowed on the course?
A: Yes. However, please be respectful of others. Some of our runners are trying to qualify for competitive races, and want to run at their fastest possible pace. If you plan to run or walk with a stroller, jogger, or a pet, please position yourself at the back of the starting lineup. And if you bring a pet, you will be responsible for picking up any pet waste and disposing of it properly.
Q: Are headphones allowed during the race?
A: For safety concerns, we strongly encourage participants to abstain from using headphones during this race. Clairmont Road is busy, and our police officers and route volunteers may need to communicate with you to ensure your safety.
Q: How will I be timed?
A: Professional chip and gun times will be provided by Start2Finish.
Q: Is there a course map?
A: Yes, the course map is shown on the event’s main page.
Q: Is this considered a Peachtree Road Race Qualifier?
A: Yes!

DDD FOUNDATION QUESTIONS
Q: What is the DDD Foundation?
A: The DDD Foundation is a non-profit dental clinic providing accessible, comprehensive dental care to more than 4,600 Georgians with developmental disabilities.
Q: What’s a developmental disability?
A: Developmental disabilities are a group of conditions due to an impairment in physical, learning, language, or behavior areas. These conditions begin during the developmental period, may impact day-to-day functioning, and usually last throughout a person's lifetime. The DDD Foundation treats patients with autism, Down Syndrome, intellectual delays, cerebral palsy, and more than 60 lesser-known conditions.
Q: Where do your patients come from?
A: We serve any developmentally disabled patient who comes to our clinic. This currently includes patients from 95 Georgia counties!
Q: Is it a free clinic?
A: No, we are a nonprofit clinic. It costs us more to provide our services than we charge for treatment. We are reimbursed for our services by Medicaid or private insurance. The gap between what it costs us to provide our specialized services and the amount reimbursed is filled by generous donations and fundraising events such as Dental Dash at Dawn.
Q: Is there an age limit?
A: No, we serve any and all patients with developmental disabilities. That means children and adults of all ages receive dental care in our clinic.
Other questions? Please feel free to email Sheri at s.anderson@dddfoundation.org with any other questions you might have.
